As I discussed about music genres this morning I came up with this topic to ask you, as I'm also often sinking in thoughts of the situation in Germany here, so gotta lets go:
Germany is in the point of EDM not up to date, to say it properly. If you go to a club here in Germany, that is not special approved to be an underground one, you'll here cover or remake of old classics turned into awful dance versions and in general tracks which are a mixture of electro and dubstep. Mostly this gets completed with pop music.
The chance to get noticed as a producer here, like stuff what I 'm doing, are incredibly low. We don't have that amount of labels, the mainstream tops everything, there is no chance to start something like a hype, the music industry controls via laws and taxes the music you can watch on YouTube, the marketing is incredibly annoying, for example: 5/10 of the commercials in the TV are nowadays music: artists you've never heard of get showed they as something like "The new sensation from France" or " Morten Harket, the lovely voice of Aha, with his amazing voice... comeback of the year...". Mostly they last for over 2 minutes for once at a commercial timeschedule which is limited to 10 minutes.
It is very, very unusual having good DJs here, you have maybe 3 or 4 here a year, and this not even here in my area. It is just not making sense for them, cause if they play normally in a club, nobody would know them, put for example Fedde of Thomas Gold in the next club by, they would shut them down asap.
I could write so much more, maybe later, but now you, what is it situated at your area? Tell me, I would be really interested.

I don't know where you live but we have a good techno/ minimal scene here. Lately we had free raves at a river and at a warehouse, next up will be in a forest. There are many many techno clubs, some hiphop, rock and the rest is just meh Pitbull-crap.
Problem is especially in Germany, many people don't want to pay that much for an artist and that's simply why big artists don't get booked.

Portugal, Porto... Pitbull, David Guetta, LMFAO, Lucenzo, Madonna (yes really) (.....) There's only a club that I know that plays some tech/deep house or some classics, but only a hour and it's barely empty. Not even big room house is played here, just in some parties... which I usualy play at... and I'm the one playing big room house........

Well yea, but I'm talking in the majority. We got indeed great clubs, but some of them are overpriced and the ones that should be the so called underground culture, are playing shit. But in terms of festivals and big parties, we are lucky to have such names... I also like GARE but it's basicly Drumstep, Drum n' Bass and Dubstep. It's a bit hard to see some good house music there.

A lot of people in Czech Republic listen to LMFAO, Pitbull and stuff like that and you can hear it in most of smaller clubs. But in soem of them it gets mixed with some big room and tech-house. But we also have bigger clubs, where they play less commercial music and they are usually packed. Fabric, the most famous club in my city had Hardwell, Manuel de la Mare, Roger Shah, Ashley Wallbridge, Antoine Clamaran, Aphrodite and some others this year, so also a big variety of genres. There's also club in Brno, Tabarin, which has had parties with Nicky Romero, Basto, Frederico Scavo and on 4th of July there's going to be an event with Nervo. And of course in Prague they made a huge hall event this year called Magnetic Festival with Laidback Luke, Avicii, Dada Life, Chuckie, Hardwell and many others. So it's not that bad, you just have to go at the right place
