For me, the answer is definetly JOACHIM GARRAUD!!! This guy has so many fans over here in austria... In my opinion he sucks ass...He might have studied music, but I really hate all this space invaders thing... and when it comes to mixing, he could def use some lessons from axwell...
Thanks for this topic, this was on my mind for quite a long time now...
Oh yeah, i guess guetta is pretty much overrated these days, since his prods are pretty poor and the one live performance i've seen was as well...

Guetta : Bad DJ but Nice Producer, His latest track (release 2009) are just awesome.
Garraud is really good DJ, original with his "keytar" and nice producer too (remix love is gone, baby when... and produce with David Guetta), just wait his future album (coming July), some songs are very good !

I think Laurent Wolf is a bad DJ, just check is set on INOX festival, the start is catastrophique...

Ahhh come onnnn.

It's easy to say theres a dj that over ratated but you have to follow it up with why you think that.

Is it the tunes they play
Their mixing capability
Their own productions
Or simply they are just overrated buy alot of people

Everyone has different experiences, one persons bad experience is another persons enlightenment.

I've seen many a DJ i didnt like "on paper" but when i saw them live my opinion completley changed such as The Glimmer Twins, Pendulum and Oakenfold

Its been the other way round too, i like some Seamus Haji stuff but seeing him live on more than 1 occasion i wasnt that impressed.

A dangerous thread indeed... :)

@ Paul: I totally agree with you - Austria is concering House far too ignorant - there is a Gutta, Garraud, Maybe Sinclar... and that's it.

People here listen to stuff like "Yves LaRock - Rise up" - it's not a bad track - but I mean ... come on - it's Pop House... (or Pop Life House  )

I acutually don't really know any DJ who convinced me over the years except one... Axwell is definitely all the worlds No1, and if anyone disagree - just listen to the INOX set - and if then still anyone disagree, I have only one adive: go in the cellar and practise mixing on you Reloop Mixer

I think Tiesto deserves the fame since he made electronic music far more popluar... technically his sets aren't that great - but I think that's a littel bit due to the music itself...

Most of the guys will hate me now:

- I think Deedmau is a little bit overrated... there are indeed some really good tracks - but for me too much tracks with the same style...
- I don't really like Guetta (as well as Garraud)
- And I don't like these tons of commercial cover producers...

Maybe we shoud make a "Most underestimated DJ" thread...

I start with: AXWELL :D
